Sunbridgewells are creating Bradford’s first underground retail complex right in the heart of Bradford’s historic trading quarter. With easy access from City Park and Sunbridge Road – Sunbridgewells will become a shopping and leisure area right in the center of Bradford – linking the area from the new City Park to the Arndale Mall.
They will become Bradford’s own Victorian quarter incorporating Victorian and contemporary shop units together with trading streets barrows, restaurants and bars in a setting in keeping with the history and ambience of Bradford.
There will be Victorian style units running the length of the tunnels and it will have an internal street with a large glass area above. A rear courtyard will be created together with open plan glass / steel staircase leading to Upper Miller Gate. This will create light to the tunnel system and will be covered by an atrium entrance and exit to the shopping area below.
The main entrance to the tunnel is behind the City Park development fronting the new City Park lake fountain and below the staircase leading to Sunbridge Road. With City Hall, Lloyd’s Bar, Starbucks, Nando’s, Bradford Councils Art Gallery Number One, Jury’s Hotel, The Alhambra and Provident are in the direct vicinity – which is an ideal area for new and existing business to trade.
They wish to promote both independent retailers young entrepreneurs in the Bradford area aged 18 to 30 – with easy in and out flexible trading terms making Sunbridgewells an ideal area for new and existing businesses to trade in the heart of the city centre.
